Larry Page habla sobre la importancia de difundir el conocimiento científico

Las recomendaciones que  el co-fundador de Google, Larry Page, le  ofreció a un  grupo de investigadores en la Reunión Anual de la American Association for the Advancement of Science merecen ser tomadas muy en serio:

1. «Science has a real marketing problem. If all the growth in world is due to science and technology and no one pays attention to you, then you have a serious marketing problem.» La ciencia tiene un problema grave de mercadeo.  Es necesario invertir fondos  para promocionar las investigaciones en los diferentes medios.
2. Recomendó que un mayor número de investigaciones estén disponibles en línea vía acceso abierto:  «We have to unlock the wealth of scientific knowledge and get it to everyone. I don’t care what we do, but we need to do something.»
3. Y esto fue lo que más me gustó : «He said he would like to see a «box in the back of every classroom,» where professors could push a button and «whatever you said would go on Net. It’s important to get all that out there.» Ese es mi sueño: Llegar todos los días a  un salón de clases, hundir un botón y transmitir en vivo al ciberespacio para que no solo se beneficien los allí presentes, sino el mundo entero.

Comparto plenamente la visión de  Larry  Page.
