Seguidamente anunci\u00f3 que deseaba juramentar utilizando el Koran y no la Biblia . Esta decisi\u00f3n le trajo un gran n\u00famero de cr\u00edticas de parte de personas conservadoras e intolerantes.&nbsp; Dennis Prager en un art\u00edculo t\u00edtulado \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.townhall.com\/Columnists\/DennisPrager\/2006\/11\/28\/america,_not_keith_ellison,_decides_what_book_a_congressman_takes_his_oath_on\">America, not Keith Ellison, decides what book a Congressman takes his oath on<\/a>\u201d&nbsp; escrib\u00eda barbaridades como: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00abIf you are incapable of taking an oath on that book [the Bible], don&#8217;t serve in Congress\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00abDevotees of multiculturalism and political correctness who do not see how damaging to the fabric of American civilization it is to allow Ellison to choose his own book need only imagine a racist elected to Congress. Would they allow him to choose Hitler&#8217;s &#8216;Mein Kampf&#8217;, the Nazis&#8217; bible, for his oath?<\/p>\n<p>\u201d If allowed to go forward, \u201cEllison&#8217;s doing so will embolden Islamic extremists and make new ones, as Islamists, rightly or wrongly, see the first sign of the realization of their greatest goal &#8212; the Islamicization of America.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>\u201che will be doing more damage to the unity of America and to the value system that has formed this country than the terrorists of 9-11&#8243;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>De la misma forma el representante <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Virgil_Goode\">Virgil Goode<\/a>&nbsp;le envi\u00f3 una carta a sus constituyentes expresando su preocupaci\u00f3n por la utilizaci\u00f3n del Kor\u00e1n&nbsp;por parte de Ellison:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00abWhen I raise my hand to take the oath on Swearing In Day, I will have the Bible in my other hand. I do not subscribe to using the Koran in any way. The Muslim Representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don\u2019t wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran. &#8230;I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped.\u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hoy me entero de que Ellison jurament\u00f3 con una copia del Kor\u00e1n que le pertenec\u00eda a Thomas Jefferson.
